Employers Are Invited to Join Chelmsford College Industry Advisory Boards
Designed to boost successful employer partnership relations, Chelmsford College has launched a new plan for their Industry Advisory Boards. These meetings see a variety of employers visit the College to discuss their industry needs and how the College and learners can help support this in a two-way partnership. Successful Industry Advisory Board meetings have already taken place across Construction, Engineering, Cyber Security, IT and Digital, resulting in the involvement of a number of new employer stakeholders, including:
• Ringway Jacobs
• Hill Group
• Balfour Beatty
• British Land
• Twenty One Engineering
• Maycast-Nokes Precision Engineering Ltd
• Essex County Council
• Bupa
• ADAPI Consulting Ltd
Continuing with the success, Chelmsford College has now planned additional Industry Advisory Boards for the following sectors:
• Health and Social Care & Sport
• Service Industries
• Creative Media & Visitor Economy
• Education
• Building Services
These meetings are a brilliant opportunity for employers to influence the next generation of talent, share their expertise and ensure the College align education with real industry needs. Employers who visit the Industry Advisory Boards can directly influence course content and can even create a module brief or co-deliver on a topic for the learners. As well as networking with Chelmsford College staff including Directors and Heads of Departments, employers can speak directly to the learners enabling them access to future talent for their business through work placements, T Level industry placements and employment opportunities.
Besides helping the learners of the College, Chelmsford College also can support companies with upskilling their workforce through Higher Education programmes, Apprenticeships and Adult Skills Bootcamps. Ultimately, these partnerships deliver benefits for both employers and the College, creating lasting outcomes for the employer, local economy and education.
A recent example of positive collaboration from one of the Industry Advisory Boards includes employers highlighting the demand for an accessible booklet that clearly outlines the different routes employers can take to partner with the College. After discussing and listening to the conversations, Chelmsford College has now created its brand-new Employer Partnership Document which details the various different avenues stakeholders can take.
