Chelmsford College Greets Prospective Students at Annual Careers Fair
Chelmsford College returned to the Braintree Careers Fair at Chelmsford Racecourse on the 23rd September, meeting with Year 11 students from across Essex to showcase the opportunities available upon leaving school.
The College’s Careers Team was joined by lecturers from construction and creative media, giving prospective learners the chance to speak directly with staff and find out more about courses and campus life at Chelmsford College. With 8 local schools in attendance, there was plenty of opportunities for staff to meet and speak with future learners.
The team also took along the brand new Chelmsford College prospectus, giving students the chance to explore the full range of courses available while picking up some of the College’s latest merchandise. Sustainable options proved particularly popular, along with the College’s screen cleaner stress balls proving a favourite with the year 11s.
The Careers Advice Zone did a fantastic job of encouraging students to ask questions and start conversations about their interests, helping them discover which pathways could be right for them before handing out the anticipated freebies.
There was also plenty to see at the academic area stalls as the construction team brought along foam bricks to demonstrate the practical side of their courses, while the creative media team displayed sketchbooks and photography work, giving students an insight into the creative skills they could develop with Chelmsford College.
With so many prospective learners attending, the event was a great opportunity to connect with year 11s and help them start thinking about their next steps after school.
