About Start Well
Start Well is a short, practical programme designed to support people starting a new job or returning to work.
The course focuses on workplace confidence, communication, reliability and understanding expectations, helping learners succeed during the crucial first 30–60–90 days of employment.
Who is it for?
Learners referred by Connect to Work or its partners, including:
- EPUT (Employability)
- Shaw Trust
- ECL
Maximum 20 learners per session so apply ASAP!
What you’ll gain
- Confidence starting work and settling in
- Understanding workplace behaviour and expectations
- Skills for communication, teamwork and asking for help
- Tools to manage time, routines and attendance
- Strategies to handle pressure, feedback and mistakes
- Knowledge of payslips, rights and workplace wellbeing

6 interactive modules delivered over one week
- Starting work with confidence
- Professional behaviour and conduct
- Reliability, timekeeping and organisation
- Communication and workplace relationships
- Managing pressure, emotions and conflict
- Workplace rights, wellbeing and understanding your pay

Delivery: Online (Teams / Zoom)
Option 1 - AM Sessions
Start date: Monday 18th May
Days: Monday, Thursday & Friday
Time: 09:15 - 12:30
Option 2 - PM Sessions
Start date: Monday 15th June
Days: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Time: 12:00 - 15:15
Learners can choose AM or PM option, subject to availability.
