Beauty Students Put Their Skills to Work for Macmillan
Chelmsford College’s beauty students have been busy raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, with level 3 groups partaking across two fundraising afternoons on Monday 28th September and Thursday 1st October.
The events gave students the chance to put their skills to use while raising money for a charity that supports people living with cancer. There was plenty on offer throughout the afternoons, with the students organising cake sales, raffle prizes and a range of beauty treatments. Visitors could take some time for themselves with treatments including waxing, while also helping to raise money for Macmillan.
As well as giving students the opportunity to practise different treatments in the Princes Salons, based at the College’s Princes Road campus, the fundraising helped them develop their skills working with customers, organising events and working as part of a team too.
The fundraising also demonstrates the sense of community and commitment to social value that Chelmsford College prides themselves on, with different groups and staff coming together to help make it a success. Supporting charities and getting involved in fundraising activities are all valuable parts of the learner experience, giving students opportunities to practice their skills outside of lessons while contributing to very worthy causes.
