Chelmsford College Learner Named Finalist in National AoC Student of the Year Awards
Chelmsford College is very proud to announce that Level 3 IT learner, Daniel Holland, has been named as a finalist for the Association of Colleges (AoC) Young Student of the Year Award.
Unaware that he had been nominated, the exciting news came as a pleasant surprise to Daniel when he was contacted during the summer break. Daniel was nominated in recognition of his outstanding contribution to college life and his commitment to representing learner voice. As previous Student Governor for two consecutive academic years, he has played a key role in helping to shape the future of the College, ensuring learners' views are represented at the highest level.
Daniel is no stranger to awards, having previously been shortlisted for Student Governor of the Year and winning the Principal’s Award at the College’s 2026 Awards Event. Through his involvement in national conferences, community and partnership events, Daniel has confidently represented both Chelmsford College and his peers, contributing to important discussions around education and local communities. His maturity and ability to engage with people from all backgrounds have made him an exceptional ambassador for the College.
The AoC awards process sees nominations reviewed by shortlisting and judging panels before recommendations are ratified by the AoC Charitable Trust Board. Speaking on the news, Daniel said "I was completely overwhelmed when I found out I was a finalist. I'm very proud and honoured to have been nominated and I'm really looking forward to attending the awards event. I'm humbled to have the opportunity to experience something like this."
Chelmsford College is incredibly proud of Daniel and all that he has achieved. Being recognised as a national finalist is an amazing accomplishment and highlights the positive impact he has made both within the College building and beyond.
Both Daniel and the wider College community are looking forward to the winners being announced in November. Chelmsford College is proud and very lucky to have a learner like Daniel representing the College.
