New Adult Skills Hub Coming to the Heart of Chelmsford
Chelmsford College is opening a dedicated Adult Skills Hub in the city centre to help local adults gain high employability skills and move into work.
Chelmsford College is creating a new home for its adult courses in the heart of Chelmsford. The Adult Skills Hub will give adults aged 19 and over a dedicated, space to gain skills, build confidence and take their next step into work.
The hub will focus on short, practical courses linked to local jobs in sectors such as construction, security, hospitality and business. Many courses will be free for eligible adults who are unemployed and claiming benefits. Being close to Chelmsford's train and bus stations, the hub will be easy to reach for learners from across the city and the wider area.
Louise Manning, Head of Adult Learning at Chelmsford College, said: "We know many adults in Chelmsford are ready for a fresh start but aren't sure where to begin. The Adult Skills Hub will give them a welcoming space designed around their needs, with courses that lead to real jobs."

Adults interested in a course can learn more at Sector-Based Work Academy Programmes (SWAP). Jobcentre work coaches and support organisations can also refer learners directly.
