£670 Million Contributed to the UK Economy by Chelmsford College

Chelmsford College is proud to share the findings of its new Social Value Report, showcasing the significant impact the College has on the local community, economy and wider region.

The report reveals that the College generates over £52 million in social value, alongside contributing £670 million annually to the UK economy in gross value added. It also highlights how Chelmsford College supports more than 9,000 jobs, demonstrating the vital role the organisation plays in driving economic growth and opportunity across the area.

Beyond the economic contribution, the report shines a light on the positive difference made through learner and staff initiatives. From community projects to learner-led activities such as Social Action Day, the College continues to make an impact beyond the classroom, supporting charities, local organisations and various community groups.

The Social Value Report also outlines how investment in the College delivers long-term benefits, with every £1 invested achieving a £2.36 Social Return on Investment. This reflects the College’s commitment to not only providing high-quality education but also supporting wider social and economic development.
