Opportunities Arise During Professional Week at Chelmsford College

From London Luon Airport to Styled by Katie, Climax Studios and more, learners gained valuable insights and top tips for entering their chosen sectors. A standout moment was a learner finding an industry placement opportunity with one of the speakers! Emma Louise Goode, visited to speak with learners on how to use social media for employability, had the learner contact them after to request the work experience. Emma quickly agreed and expressed she is excited to show them behind-the-scenes.

With one of the College’s creative classes named after Dlala Studios, it was also very fitting for Animation Director, Eric Ciccone, from Dlala Studios to speak with the learners. He shared his work and led a Q&A session, giving learners a real insight into the world of work.

Leah Green, an experienced Illustrator, is another great example of one of the speakers throughout the week. She spoke about her career journey so far, from graduating uni and experiencing creative burn-out, to overcoming that and where she is proudly is now as a commissioner. Leah inspired the learners as she also spoke about her life as a disabled artist and shared the different industry routes that make it accessible for all, such as going freelance!

Chelmsford College would like to extend a big thank you to all the guest speakers for visiting and helping make Professional Week a success!
