Chelmsford College Launches Renewable Energy Centre
On the 15th May 2024, Chelmsford College staff were joined by Shelagh Legrave CBE, the Further Education Commissioner, to launch the Renewable Energy Centre.
This sustainable new space offers the construction department new opportunities to develop their green skills using state-of-the-art equipment, including air source heat pumps and solar panels.
David Warnes, the Principal and CEO of Chelmsford College, started the event by welcoming all who attended. Shelagh Legrave CBE then joined to unveil a plaque officially marking the centre's opening. Additionally, Richard Love from Quantum Group, a leading decarbonisation specialist and renewable training provider, kindly attended to provide live demos on how all of the equipment works and explain the benefits of learners utilising it.
Overall, Chelmsford College is thrilled to be able to expand upon its sustainability mission and looks forward to seeing what opportunities the Renewable Energy Centre brings.
