Chelmsford College Joins Farleigh Hospice in Creating a Buzz Around the City

Making Chelmsford an even more vibrant city, various large and small colourful bee sculptures have been placed throughout the area for the community to follow along a trail. Farleigh Hospice is working with Chelmsford For You and Chelmsford City Council, with support from numerous businesses, to bring this to life. Chelmsford College is proudly the most recent to have one of these buzzing bees added to its Moulsham Street campus entrance.

On the 3rd July, the Farleigh Hospice team visited Chelmsford College to officially unveil a vibrant new sculpture alongside David Warnes, Principal and CEO of the College. Designed in a playful Pac-Man-inspired style, the bee is now a welcome new addition to the College community! This initiative aligns closely with Chelmsford College’s values by encouraging locals and visitors to get active and explore the city while discovering the sculptures on route. To enhance the experience, the trail even has its very own Buzz in the City app, which features a digital map and information about each bee, its artist and its sponsor.

Activity

If you’re wondering “why bees?”, the answer is simple! Bees represent community, teamwork and persistence – all qualities that the Farleigh Hospice and Chelmsford College communities embody. Another amazing aspect of this trail is that once it ends, the bees will find new homes by being auctioned off to raise funds for Farleigh Hospice. That is just another reason why Chelmsford College is proud to support this creative, community-driven initiative.
