We've Joined the National Nature Park!

With our aim of being one of the leading colleges in sustainable practice, we are pleased to announce that we are now an official member of the National Nature Park (NNP) initiative set up by the esteemed Natural History Museum. The NNP is about a community of spaces working together to increase nature in education, which we are very keen on. Our picturesque Secret Garden, located at our Moulsham Street campus, has been registered as the location for this environmentally conscious venture.

The decision to join the NNP is an inspiring one, as it presents us with numerous opportunities for growth and development. Not only does it enable our young learners to make a positive impact on their future and the environment, but it also integrates us into a network of like-minded nurseries, schools, and colleges. Our vision of being Net Zero by 2040 and a 75% reduction in emissions by 2035 is closely aligned with the mission of the NNP. By joining the network, we are formalising our commitment to this vital eco-mission and becoming part of a community dedicated to the exact cause.

With Green Careers Week commencing from November 6th to 10th, there couldn't be a more apt time to showcase this latest venture. Our Secret Garden presents a valuable platform for our learners to explore promising green career paths in horticulture and gardening, offering hands-on experience at the College. Our Secret Garden and collaboration with the NNP also allow our learners to gain skills and knowledge in biodiversity and sustainability, equipping them to address climate concerns proactively.

With our learners already using our Secret Garden, as shown in the images, joining the NNP only allows this green space to be further utilised and, more importantly, enjoyed in the near and far future!
