Chelmsford College Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week is the biggest celebration of apprenticeships and skills in the calendar and this year it was hosted from from the 9th-15th February 2026. As a proud provider of apprenticeships, Chelmsford College was delighted to once again celebrate National Apprenticeship Week. The College brought attention to apprenticeships and skills by welcoming a variety of inspiring guest speakers and supporting the week across it’s social media channels. Apprenticeships help break down barriers to opportunity and drive economic growth by developing the skills employers need.

Chelmsford College Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

Kicking off the highly-anticipated guest talks and visits were Laura Pearse from Yew Interior Designs Ltd who visited the carpentry department, Catherine Leather from Aerospace Warranty Management Ltd who spoke with business learners and Simon Warnes from Sharp UK, who regularly visits the College and works closely with the IT learners and wider College community. Wednesday saw more talented visitors including Gary Staines from Site Ready Solutions who visited the brick department and Steve Hammond from M Anderson Construction Ltd, who spoke with the construction learners. Concluding the week on a high was Garry Newnes, an experienced Governor from HM Prison and Probation Service, who spoke with the College’s Uniformed Services learners to share his career journey and the reality of working in the industry. From first-hand experiences to some eye-opening prison statistics, it was a talk that really got everyone thinking.

Overall, the week was a success and allowed learners to realise future exciting opportunities available to them. Chelmsford College is excited to continue welcoming guest speakers and discussing apprenticeship opportunities. By studying an apprenticeship with Chelmsford College, apprentices can open doors to exciting and rewarding careers, help businesses build future-ready workforces and support economic growth by addressing priority skills gaps.
