Celebrating Christmas and Culture at Chelmsford College
Tuesday 16th December marked a very exciting day for Chelmsford College as they hosted their very first Christmas Market. Along with learners running their own stalls and activities, the College welcomed external businesses to display and sell their wide variety of products and services too! Held in the Pavillion and back fields at the Moulsham Street campus, the event was definitely a success with a festive atmosphere felt throughout.

Just some of the exhibitors included delicious food vans, clothing stalls and personalised gifts with Journey Scent UK, Pizza19, Tropic Skin Care, The Personalised Edit, Kerimli’s Creations, Top Tier Collectibles, Myaimi Collective and many more all in attendance. The event made a nice change for the College and helped bring an external festive cheer to both learners and staff, linking the local wider community with the internal College community. Learners such as Aimee, Danielle and William all embraced the festivities too with Aimee running a face painting station, Danielle selling homemade cookie and hot chocolate mixes and William fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease by showcasing his car which has been dressed up in Christmas lights, antlers and an inflatable Santa.
Both vendors and attendees commented on the positive and busy energy of the event making Chelmsford College extremely proud of its first Christmas Market! The event was organised as part of the College’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Network and helped display culture and celebrate tradition by creating a welcoming and inclusive Christmas Market.
Rina Prema-Gadhia, Life Skills Tutor at Chelmsford College and Cultural Connections Lead for its EDI Network, did an amazing job at coordinating the event and ensuring it ran smoothly. Rina expressed how she was “so proud to see this come to life” and thanked her various colleagues for the support including the estates team explaining “this event would not have been a success without you”. Chelmsford College looks forward to future events and extends its thanks to Rina and the wider team, as well as to all exhibitors and guests, for their contributions to this achievement.
