Chelmsford College Recognised by The Green Edge!
With Chelmsford College dedicated to pioneering the way for sustainable colleges, its recent efforts have been recognised by the green jobs and skills-related publication The Green Edge.
In a recent article, written by Michael Cross and Fraser Harper, titled Loore and the herding of cats", it discusses the different political parties' manifestos regarding green skills with the upcoming election in mind. Despite that, Cross and Harper note that at the heart of it all, they've identified the "movers and shakers" of green skills over the past couple of years and seen how "at local levels, a core part of the green skills delivery response has been built around further education (FE) colleges working with other local providers."
The article then goes on to explain that they've seen different green skills deployment models develop and discuss how some work differently for different parts of the green economy. This is where Chelmsford College is deservingly recognised with its recent opening of the Renewable Energy Centre. This is a sustainable new space offering the construction department new opportunities to develop their green skills using state-of-the-art equipment, including air source heat pumps and solar panels.
In addition to being recognised in The Green Edge's article, Chelmsford College is also mentioned in The Green Edge Podcast, which is also hosted by Michael Cross and Fraser Harper. Again, discussing the models looking at local solutions, they quote "You move into places like Essex, where you have the emergence of a coordinated and cooperative partnership arrangement driven by Chelmsford College."
Chelmsford College is proud to have been recognised for its sustainable efforts and looks forward to continuing to pave the way to a greener future!
