Apprentices Make a Difference Through Fundraising and Awareness for Mind Thurrock & Brentwood

Chelmsford College is celebrating the outstanding achievements of its Teaching Assistant Level 3 apprentices, who have successfully completed their Social Action Project in support of Mind Thurrock & Brentwood. The project focused on raising both funds and awareness for mental health, with learners organising a series of school based activities that demonstrated empathy and a strong commitment to community wellbeing.

Bringing a nice end to the project, the apprentices had the opportunity to present the funds raised directly to the charity and take part in a reflective workshop exploring the importance of mental health support, in which they received certificates. The session offered valuable insight into the work Mind carries out locally and reinforced the impact that people can have when they come together with purpose.

One apprentice, Amber Powell, made an exceptional individual contribution by completing a 13 mile sponsored walk, raising an impressive £500. Her determination and initiative stood out as an example of how individual action can create meaningful change.

Sejal Patel, Work Based Tutor for Chelmsford College, praised the group saying: "This project brought together teamwork, community cohesion, and purposeful action. I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved."

The College congratulates all apprentices involved for their compassion, leadership and commitment to supporting mental health in the community. Their efforts reflect Chelmsford College’s ongoing dedication to social action.
