Chelmsford College Learners Lead Remembrance Parades

On the 11th November, learners from Chelmsford College’s Uniformed Services department led moving parades across both the Princes Road and Moulsham Street campuses. The College sounded an alarm and the entire community gathered outside to remember and honour those who served.

At Princes Road, the College was joined by Sidra Naeem, Deputy Lieutenant for Essex, representing the King. A poppy wreath was laid and Sidra delivered a thought-provoking speech. Learners and staff also shared readings and the Uniformed Services learners proudly marched outside.

Meanwhile at Moulsham Street, the parade featured a wreath-laying ceremony led by Stan, representing the Jewish community, alongside Chelmsford College’s Chief Operating Officer Debs Hurst. Learners here also participated in the parade and marching, honouring those who bravely fought.

Both events were captured by the College’s marketing team and photography learners who kindly helped out too. The below video shows highlights from Princes Road and features snippets from Sidra’s speech, staff and learner readings and the parade march, creating an everlasting reminder of the importance of remembrance throughout the year.
