Chelmsford College Feature in Essex Chronicle

You might have seen some of our students featured in a recent Essex Chronicle article. Molly Chilvers, Sam Cheverall and Elise Blyth-Cook all spoke to the paper about how their individual courses have all paved the path to a bright looking future. Molly, who’s in her second year studying BTEC Health and Social Care, will be starting university next year to then go on to be a podiatrist. Not only glad with her course, she’s also extremely grateful for the work placements (in Broomfield Hospital and Chelmsford Foot Clinic) as she says “Work placements have given me real life experience with all kinds of people with different conditions and this has helped enormously with my college coursework. Sam, after completing his Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT last year, now works at the college as an apprentice which is now helping him work towards a further qualification in IT – an apprenticeship he wouldn’t have found out about without the college and their strive to provide every student with valuable real-life work experience. Elise, who is now in her second year at the Peter Jones Academy studying for a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business, would not have been in the position of receiving three university offers if she hadn’t discovered her course. After discovering that Sixth Form was not for her, she gave Chelmsford College a chance and now she says “I feel for the first time like I have a real shot of being successful and am able to build my own future – all thanks to Chelmsford College.” We look forward to seeing what they all do next!
