Chelmsford College impressively receives Innovate UK funding
Innovate UK, the UK’s national innovation agency, has today announced that we at Chelmsford College will receive funding from the Further Education Innovation Fund. Innovate UK has collaborated with 33 colleges across the country to identify nine different projects with the aim of promoting local innovation. Our specific contribution to the project is to run the Inclusive Employment, Innovating Businesses programme.
We are very proud to be a part of such an important project. With the funding, we aim to help local businesses understand how to adopt innovations to address and spark change for inclusive employment. Our goal is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their ability, gender, and background, has an equal opportunity for employment. To achieve this, we will be hiring a brand-new project manager and team to work directly with employers.
Key to this programme is the establishment of local innovation centres. Colleges will utilise funding to create and manage these centres, becoming dynamic hubs that actively drive local business growth. These centres will spark innovation by engaging with businesses in key sectors of their local economies.
