Health & Social Care
T Level in Health (Specialism in Supporting Adult Nursing), Level 3
Is this course for me?
T Levels are a 2-year qualification and are an excellent alternative to A Levels, other post-16 courses, or an apprenticeship. They have been designed with leading businesses and employers to give you the knowledge and skills you need to fully understand the role of supporting the adult nursing team. You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom using industry-standard equipment and 20% in placement with an employer to give you the skills and knowledge companies look for. Your industry placement of 315 hours, gives you the chance to experience working in healthcare, while you continue your studies. This also makes for a great addition to your CV as well as allowing you to understand the industry first hand and make valuable connections.
Study Overview
To ensure you have a general understanding of the industry as a whole, this T Level in Health covers a range of units. The units cover health and science and include the following:
- Working within the health and science sector
- Health, safety and environmental regulations
- Managing information and data
- Principles of good scientific and clinical practice
- Core science concepts, including the structure of cells, tissues, and large molecules, genetics, microbiology, and immunology.
In the second year you will study an occupational specialism, supporting the adult nursing team.
Progression and Employment Opportunities
Following a T Level, you could continue your studies with a degree or higher-level apprenticeship in a skilled profession such as an Emergency Care Assistant, Nurse, Midwife, Healthcare Worker, or many more. Alternatively, you may go into employment in the healthcare field. You may be able to progress into medicine at Anglia Ruskin University, with an overall distinction grade and other relevant entry requirements. Please see Anglia Ruskin website for further details.
