If you're not sure if you are interested in health and social care or childcare courses, we have the perfect course for you. Study Overview

By studying this Health and Social Care Level 1 course, you will undertake a series of core units that develop a range of skills including, organisation, team working and research skills. You will be introduced to different disabilities, lifestyles, and support needs of clients, which will enable you to work effectively with a diverse range of people. 

You will learn and carry out activities to develop social and emotional needs, about healthy eating, and how to plan safe environments to create a nurturing and supportive environment. 

Progression and Employment Opportunities

Completing a vocational course is a great foundation to help advance your career and prospects. Upon successful completion of this Level 1 vocational course, and achievement of maths and English at grade 3, you will be considered for progression onto the Level 2 NCFE Certificate Working with Children in Early Years and Primary Settings (1 year) or onto another Level 2 course, such as Health and Social Care.

Additional Qualifications Studied

If you do not have GCSE Maths and/or English at grade 4 or above , you will be required to study English and Maths.  

We also work closely with stakeholders, including NHS England, to improve our healthcare programmes based on their feedback. As a result, we've added a nutrition course for all programmes, along with working with NHS England to ensure an adequate supply of industrial placements.
