Who are we looking for?
Above all, we are looking for someone who can connect with adult learners and inspire them to achieve.
You may already work in Further Education or Adult Education, or as a trainer or tutor in another setting. You will have experience of teaching, training or facilitating learning, including qualifications, employability, personal development or vocational programmes. You should be confident assessing learner work and maintaining accurate records.
You will be engaging, motivational, learner-focused and approachable, with the ability to adapt to different groups and support adults who may be returning to education after a significant period. You will be organised, collaborative, positive and solution-focused, with high expectations for teaching, assessment and learner achievement.
You will hold an appropriate teaching qualification, a relevant Level 3 qualification and GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or equivalent.
Experience of Adult Skills Fund provision, SWAPs, regulated qualifications or working with unemployed adults would be an advantage but is not essential.
Why join us?
This is an exciting time to join our Adult Skills team. The development of the Chelmsford College Skills Hub is creating opportunities to expand adult learning, respond to local skills needs and support more adults to develop their skills and progress.
You will join a growing provision where you can contribute ideas, develop resources and programmes, and help shape the learner experience. Most importantly, you will see the direct impact of your work as learners build confidence, achieve qualifications and progress into employment, apprenticeships or further learning.
Could this be your next step?
If you are passionate about teaching, enjoy working with adult learners and want to make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.
Apply now and help adults gain skills, achieve their goals and create new opportunities for their future.
The College is committed to equality and diversity and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share these commitments.
Starting salary will be dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.
