Bringing together Skills Bootcamps, SWAPs, Adult Skills Fund programmes and employer-focused training, the Hub will support adults to build skills, confidence and pathways into employment, apprenticeships and further learning.

We're looking for an exceptional Skills Hub Manager to help bring this vision to life.

About the Role
As Skills Hub Manager, you'll be at the centre of daily operations, ensuring the Hub runs smoothly, safely and professionally. You'll be the first point of contact for learners, employers, staff, visitors and partners, creating a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome.

Working closely with the Head of Apprenticeships and Adult Skills, you will:
•Manage the day-to-day operation of the Skills Hub.
•Coordinate administration, facilities and room bookings.
•Support the delivery of adult learning programmes, including Skills Bootcamps and SWAPs.
•Support learner onboarding, attendance, engagement and wellbeing.
•Oversee safeguarding, welfare, health and safety, and first aid arrangements.
•Handle concerns and complaints professionally and confidently.
•Liaise with internal departments and external partners.
•Support employer engagement, recruitment activities and community events.
•Help drive the ongoing development and success of the Skills Hub.

About You
You are an organised, proactive and people-focused professional who enjoys making things happen. You'll have excellent communication skills, build positive relationships easily and remain calm under pressure.

You will:
•Be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
•Take ownership and use initiative.
•Deliver an outstanding learner experience.
•Be confident managing challenging situations and resolving concerns.
•Be committed to equality, inclusion, safeguarding and learner welfare.
•Enjoy working in a busy, community-focused environment.

Experience in further education, adult learning, employability, training or a customer-facing environment is desirable, but we welcome candidates who can demonstrate the right skills and approach. First Aid training can be provided.

Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a brand-new Skills Hub and make a real difference to adult learners across Chelmsford.

You won't just be managing a centre. You'll help create a community-focused learning environment that changes lives through skills, confidence and opportunity.

Applications will be considered upon receipt.

Closing date: 20 September 2026

Chelmsford College is committed to equality, diversity and safeguarding. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
