Chelmsford College Supports World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day was celebrated globally on the 10th of October 2024 to raise awareness about mental health and promote support for mental wellbeing.
Chelmsford College ensured a range of activities took place, demonstrating its dedication to looking after wellbeing. Recognising that a green ribbon signifies mental health, Chelmsford College had plenty of green ribbons to hand so learners could wear them as a symbol of support. Acknowledging the importance of a nice environment, the College’s Secret Garden was open all day for both learners and staff to destress. Some groups of learners kindly assisted in the maintenance of the garden.
Staff were not forgotten with a schedule of activities available. Ranging from mindful colouring to walkie-talkies and more, Chelmsford College made sure to highlight the message to take time away from the desk if needed.
Inspiringly, later that evening on the 10th, some staff even participated in a firewalk to raise money for Mind. You can watch that live in action by clicking HERE.
Despite its brilliant efforts, Chelmsford College’s ultimate aim is to emphasise that everyone should take care of their mental wellbeing every day, not just on World Mental Health Day. As a commitment to that, all Chelmsford College staff and learners have FREE access to Togetherall, a 24/7 platform where you can receive anonymous support from people who understand.
