Chelmsford College Celebrates Learner Achievements at Awards Event

On June 27, 2024, Chelmsford College spent the day recognising the achievements of its learners. In two special ceremonies held at St John's Church, staff, stakeholders, learners, and their families gathered to present and watch the learners receive their well-deserved awards.

Principal and CEO David Warnes opened the event with an inspiring speech welcoming everyone. He then handed the stage to alumni guest speakers Amy Charlton and Phoebe Fuhr. Amy spoke at the first event and willingly shared her journey from Chelmsford College to now working in social care for Essex County Council. Meanwhile, Phoebe spoke at the second event and shared her full circle experience of studying at Chelmsford College to now working for them as the Executive Assistant for the Deputy Principal. The presenting of the awards then commenced with Deputy Principal Debbie Garroway presenting the curriculum area awards and Deputy Principal Debs Hurst presenting the cross-college awards.

The event showcased the talented learners of Chelmsford College and praised their success, dedication, and determination. With the college recognising education encompasses a broad variety, the award citations commended the learners in both their academic and personal lives. Overall, Awards Event 2024 further demonstrates Chelmsford College's ongoing commitment to empowering and enriching the lives of its learners.

David Warnes proudly expressed, "This is my favourite night of the year; it was brilliant celebrating the successes and achievements of our 2023-24 learners. We heard some brilliant stories of triumph over adversity that I’m sure will have a lasting impression on all who attended."
