Chelmsford College Takes Pride in Hosting Annual FEDEC Conference
The 19th of June 2024 marked the Annual FEDEC (Federation of Essex Colleges) PD Conference. Chelmsford College was proud to host this year's event, which had a theme of Taking Teaching Excellence Further. Chelmsford College welcomed the 10 colleges within FEDEC's community, to gather together to collaborate and celebrate a shared passion for education.
With the aim of sparking new ideas and establishing lasting connections, the day included a packed itinerary featuring keynote speakers, interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. Ben Pike was the external speaker who gave a welcome speech and opened the event with David Warnes, the Principal at Chelmsford College, closing the event with his inspiring talk. In between those, some of the exciting activities and workshops included Patricia Devlin from NCFE facilitating two sessions on embedding English in vocational subjects, Think Tank: Embedding Green Skills in Teaching and Learning, Using AI as a Digital Coach, and collaborative learning discussions, to name only a few.
Overall, the day proved productive and provided a platform for knowledge exchange and for educational communities to come together. Chelmsford College is proud to have hosted FEDEC and would like to thank all the guests for their attendance and enthusiasm. We now await FEDEC 2025 which we’re sure is going to be another dynamic day.
