We're proud to share Conor's story and congratulate him on his success! Conor O'Hare is studying our Sorts & Public Services Diploma. This is his third year with Chelmsford College. He is nineteen years old and lives in Witham with his parents and brother and sister. He was born with Cerebral Palsy, which is a condition that affects balance, movement & muscle tone. Conor has always loved sports and has been training with at Lee Valley in London for a few years. Conor is also a member of the Chelmsford Sports and Athletics Club. Conor specialises in the Shot Put and Discus events. Conor was selected to represent England in the CPISRA World Games in Spain in August 2018 and won two Gold medals in the Discus and the Shot. He also threw a season's best in the Javelin. Conor is classified in the F35 category, which represents lower leg impairment athletes. Conor took part in a local Primary schools "Paralympic week" where he coached the young pupils to participate in inclusive sports and encouraged them to talk about and learn about disability sports. He did fantastically well coaching the children and talking about his disability and his achievements within his sport. In 2019, Conor was selected to participate in the Great Britain Paralympic Development Academy and is hoping to compete in the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Congratulations Conor!
