Study Overview
This Gateway Level 1 Diploma in Progression (IT) provides a practical introduction to information technology and digital skills. Designed for learners who want to develop their knowledge, confidence and workplace skills, the course combines classroom learning with practical activities that reflect digital working environments.
Throughout the course, you will explore key areas such as digital marketing, digital photography, website design, presentation software, digital graphics, cybersecurity, e-safety and teamwork. You will also develop essential employability skills, including communication, problem-solving, organisation and working effectively with others.
Alongside your vocational qualification, you will study GCSE English and Maths (where required) and take part in activities that support your personal development and prepare you for further study or employment.
Progression and Employment Opportunities
After successfully completing the Gateway Level 1 Diploma in Progression, you can continue developing your digital and IT skills in several ways. You may broaden your skills by progressing to a larger qualification, develop higher-level skills by moving from Level 1 to Level 2 and then Level 3 or progress into employment where you can apply your digital and IT knowledge and skills.

Additional Qualifications Studied
You will study Life Skills and continue to study a Maths and English qualification if you have not achieved a Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2.
