This course is ideal if you are interested in creative design and digital media and want to develop practical skills across a range of media disciplines before choosing a specialist pathway.

During the course you will take part in rotations across three creative pathways:

• Graphics & Illustration
• Games & Animation
• Film & Photography

This allows you to explore different areas of the creative media industry, develop a wide range of skills and discover which area you enjoy most before progressing to a Level 3 specialism.

You will work on a variety of creative projects, learning how to develop ideas, work in a team, respond to a brief, produce media content and present your work while building an understanding of the creative production process used in industry.

Study Overview

The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, awarded by University of the Arts London Awarding Body, is designed to introduce learners to a range of creative media skills and prepare them for further study in the creative industries.

During the course, learners will explore different areas of creative media through rotations which allow learners to experience a variety of creative disciplines, develop practical skills and discover which area they would like to specialise in at Level 3.

Learners will work on a range of creative projects and industry-style briefs, learning how to develop ideas, plan and produce media content and present their work professionally. The course focuses on building both technical skills and creative thinking, while also helping learners develop important transferable skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving.

By the end of the course, learners will have produced a portfolio of creative work that supports progression to Level 3 media courses in Film & Photography, Graphic Design, Games Design or Animation & Illustration.
