T Level in Finance (Specialism in Insurance Practitioner), Level 3
Is this course for me?
T Levels are a 2-year qualification that you can do after GCSEs as an alternative to A Levels, other post-16 courses or an apprenticeship.
The curriculum has been designed with leading businesses and employers to ensure you're equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge the industry is looking for.
You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement with an employer to give you the skills and knowledge companies look for.
Your industry placement also gives you the chance to learn what a real career is like while you continue your studies. Like A Levels and BTECs, there are no tuition fees to study a T Level if you start before you are 19.
Study Overview
There are five Performance Outcomes (PO) to ensure this Finance T Level is well rounded and comprehensive:
- PO1: Operate ethically and professionally in all interactions with customers/clients and counterparties
- PO2: Explain products and services in investment banking to internal and external customers/clients
- PO3: Explain products and services in asset and wealth management to internal and external customers/clients
- PO4: Apply principles of risk management in investment banking and asset and wealth management
- PO5: Analyse financial information and data and present reports to internal and external customers/clients/counterparties
Across the 2 years you will study a variety of topics to ensure that upon successful completion, you are ready to secure employment or progress your studies.
In year 1 you will cover units such as:
- The business environment
- Regulation
- Careers within the finance and accounting professions
- Security and risk
While in year 2, you will undertake an externally set project "Insurance Practitioner".
We also collaborate with stakeholders, including Chelmsford City Council, to increase opportunities for learners to develop their entrepreneurial skills, such as through a Youth Innovation Event.
Progression and Employment Opportunities
The qualification is intended to help you progress into highly skilled employment in the Financial Services sector, with a focus on the insurance industry.
Job roles open to you once you complete your T Level could include:
