BTEC First Extended Certificate in Applied Science, Level 2

If you are interested in pursuing a career in science or health, then this Level 2 Science study programme is for you. You will be encouraged to develop skills, qualities and confidence to work in science or health and to prepare for the next level of education. This Science study programme includes external and coursework-based assessments that will provide key skills in underpinning knowledge and practical work for your next steps at Level 3.

Your science study programme includes a range of units to give you the knowledge and an understanding of key subject areas in Applied Science:

- Understanding Human Behaviour
- Investigating a Crime Scene
- Science in Medicine
Progression and Employment Opportunities
On successful complete of the Level 2 Science programme, including English Language and Maths at grades 4-9, you will be considered for progression onto the level 3 programme in Science or other level 3 courses such as the T Level in Health.
If you wish to go into employment you may apply for junior positions in scientific laboratories or other related health science fields.
Additional Qualifications Studied
If you do not already have GCSE Maths and English Language at grade 4 or Functional Skills level 2 or above, you will be required to study GCSE English Language and Maths.
