Is this course for me?

T Levels are a 2-year qualification that you can do after GCSEs as an alternative to A Levels, other post-16 courses or an apprenticeship.

The curriculum has been designed with leading businesses and employers to ensure you're equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge the industry is looking for.

You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement with an employer to give you the skills and knowledge companies look for.

Your industry placement also gives you the chance to learn what a real career is like while you continue your studies. Like A Levels and BTECs, there are no tuition fees to study a T Level if you start before you are 19.

Study Overview

During the 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of marketing occupations.

Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:

  • The purpose of marketing, how it adds value to an organisation including leadership, culture and vision and the impact of no marketing activity
  • Role of marketing including marketing as a management process, its importance, market type and reach

  • Different types of customers and consumers and what influences their behaviours
  • Organisational purpose and business aims including for-profit and not for profit marketing objectives
  • The marketing and extended promotional mix (advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations and direct marketing) including the differences between the channels and the benefits of a coordinated marketing mix

In addition to the core content, each student will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content. The specialisms available in the Marketing T Level are:
