VTCT Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments, Level 3

Is this course for me?

Throughout this qualification, learners will develop the knowledge, understanding, and skills to consult with clients, successfully promote retail products, and provide a range of beauty treatments, including Swedish massage, skin and body analysis, and electrical science, in order to make informed decisions for face and body electrical treatments. Learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are highly valued by employers. Within this qualification, you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, anatomy and physiology, client care, and communication, contributing to the effective running of a beauty therapy business. Overall, the purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills as a beauty therapist to enable you to provide beauty therapy treatments.

Study Overview

By offering a variety of units, this course has been designed to develop the skills you need to work in beauty therapy.

There are a variety of units for you to study; modules include:

• Health and safety
• Skin and body analysis
• Swedish massage therapy
• Mechanical massage
• Face electrical treatments
• Body electrical science
• Anatomy and physiology for the face and body
• Electrical epilation
• Client care and consultation
• Microdermabrasion

Please note that learners are expected to work on each other initially to gain practical experience before they work on paying clients in The Princes Salons. Learners will also complete a minimum of 30 hours work related experience. 

Progression and Employment Opportunities

• Progression to further study could include the Level 4 qualification in beauty therapy, salon management, holistic therapies or advanced beauty therapy.
• Career opportunities may include employment in commercial salons, spas, care homes, health farms and many more.

Learners who achieve this qualification are eligible to become members of the British Association of Beauty Therapists and Cosmetology (BABTAC) or the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).

Additional Qualifications Studied

You will study Life Skills and also continue to study a maths and English qualification if you have not achieved a Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2. 

We collaborate with a range of stakeholders, to enhance our Hair & Beauty courses based on industry feedback. As a result, we have incorporated the Level 2 Skin Cancer Awareness qualification to better prepare learners for their careers.
