Study Overview

Knowledge and Skills: Teaching Assistants will learn to understand how pupils learn and develop by comprehending the appropriate levels of learning resources to identify and help weakness as well as consolidate strengths and develop individualised expectations. They will also recognise the importance of using appropriate technology to support learning and work with other teachers to understand and support assessment for learning. They will need to have an appropriate knowledge of the curriculum and context that they are working in. An important aspect of the role will be learning how to keep children safe in education through policies such as safeguarding and Prevent.

As an Apprentice, they will develop the skills in:
