Explore the creative and technical aspects of photography alongside some key skills needed in video production. You will develop, produce, and meet professional standards of work in the photographic and video industry with this photography course. Our photography team are made up of industry specialists with extensive experience. Our team also works independently as freelance professionals, so you will be kept up-to-date with modern and ongoing practices. Having a close relationship to and contacts within the industry is vital and gives you the extra edge - you will have excellent networking opportunities through work related experience in the photography industry.

Study Overview

You will develop your skills using industry-standard equipment and software such as Adobe Creative Cloud. You will use professional techniques acquired through lectures, tutorials, seminars, location visits, and industry workshops to develop a portfolio of industry-standard work. You will learn the fundamentals of photography, how to become a sustainable industry professional and work on location and studio practice alongside developing two creative media projects. These assignments will be carried out in our photographic studio, workshop, darkroom, and in our ICT facilities.

You will have the opportunity to work on industry briefs, partake in online worldwide photographic exhibitions, hear from industry guest speakers, build your own website, and develop individual businesses and marketing so you can set yourself up for the freelance industry. You will benefit from several field trips, our previous trips have included:

• Residential trip to Los Angeles/New York (not included in fees)

• Cinema screenings
