NCFE Diploma in Travel and Tourism, Level 2

Is this course for me?

This Travel and Tourism course is designed to provide you with the key knowledge and basic principles of the Travel and Tourism sector as well as directly engaging in the Aviation Environment of Airport Operations. You will gain the essential knowledge and boost your skills to meet the changing needs of the rapidly growing industry. Whilst providing you with a strong foundation, this course will help to improve your confidence to work towards careers in travel agents, customer service-based roles, holiday resorts, and airports, or access to a higher-level qualification.

• Unit 11 impact of travel and tourism   
• Unit 8 Hospitality in travel and tourism 

Work Experience 

Learners will undertake a minimum of 30 hours work experience on each year of a study programme at Chelmsford College, with an external organisation that meets the industry / sector specific requirements. Learners will need to seek these placements independently and can also seek support of their personal tutor and stakeholder engagement team. 

Visits and Vocational activities
Travel and Tourism is an active course, out and about making contact with employers in the sector for training, educational insight and experience. Some examples of the activities carried out are:

• Stansted Aerozone training day.
• Airline training day (Virgin Atlantic / British Airways).
• Local attractions/business research activities.
• City day breaks (insight to tourism).
• Aviation experience.
• Team building activities.

Progression and Employment Opportunities

On successful completion of the Level 2 course, you can progress onto the Level 3 qualification in Travel and Tourism or related subjects. You could also go into employment or apply for an Apprenticeship.
