Electrical Installation
Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations
Is this course for me?
This qualification allows the learner to acquire the knowledge and craft skills of electrical installation. It does not require occupational evidence from the workplace, so is suitable for learners who do not currently work within the electrical industry but may wish to do so. The qualification has been adapted from the diploma within the apprenticeship framework, so facilitates progression to the industry recognised qualification. It will give the learner an opportunity to practice and be assessed in a secure environment on the installation of wiring systems together with the relevant theory of electrical installation. The learner has the opportunity to use the IET On-Site Guide with some units and also gain the knowledge of electrical science and principles. This qualification does not make the individual an electrician but allows progression to further study.
Study Overview
30% of the course involves practical tasks in the workshop, building hand skills, basic requirements and good practices for electrical installations.
70% of the course is theory of safe working and health and safety, electrical installation practices and knowledge of tools and equipment.
The course offers the opportunity to take part in our football academy in conjunction with Billericay Town FC.
