Chelmsford College has been approved as an Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) Practical Performance Assessment (PPA) Test Centre.

The college also holds Centre of Vocational Excellence (COVE) status in collaboration with Thurrock and Basildon College (TAB) for Electrotechnical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering training.

The Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) is a 3-day, industry recognised, Practical Performance Assessment (PPA) Test that is conducted under nationally set controlled conditions.

The AM2 Test was designed to enable individuals to evidence craft competence in specific and defined subject areas that are directly associated with the duties and responsibilities required of a "competent electrician".

The candidate's underpinning subject knowledge and the relevant practical skills are assessed by a qualified competent registered AM2 examiner and the candidate is required to demonstrate that they are able to work safely and meet nationally accepted industry standards.

The AM2 Test has been specifically designed to meet the Practical Performance Assessment (PPA) requirements of the Electrotechnical National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 3.

If you consider that you may not be adequately prepared for the AM2 Test and that you may benefit from some theory or practical skill revision then you may wish to consider enrolling on to one of the optional AM2 two-day Preparation Courses prior to booking or attempting your AM2 Test.

The AM2 Test Centre facilities are continually being monitored, improved and updated so that this centre is generally accepted to be one of the best AM2 / PPA Test Centre facilities in the country.
