The Adult Learning Centre
We aim, through this Faculty, to meet the needs of local business and individual employees and thereby to play our part in the development of Chelmsford and the county of Essex.
The Adult Learning Centre has a range of responsibilities:
- Central Essex Training: bespoke services to business.
- E-Learning and Skills Centre: IT and Skills for Life programmes in the town centre.
- Professional Technician Education: courses in Law, Accounting, Teacher Training, Management
- Adult and Continuing Education: students with learning difficulties and disabilities, languages, Catering, Health and Care, Early Years Care, Access, Foundation Art
- Electrical Installation: AM2 Centre, part time programmes e.g. C&G 2330
- Train for your Future : for 16 and 17 year olds who are employed and wish to take a level 1 or 2 qualification
- Train to Gain: courses at level 2 for employed adults
- Distance Learning: flexible learning opportunities
- International Students: students studying English as a foreign language as well as mainstream programmes.
This faculty works across all three college sites, including Copleston Court which is in the town centre. The e-Learning and Skills Centre is housed in Copleston Court and it serves as a base for the flexible delivery of IT training and Skills for Life provision.
Central Essex Training is the newly launched business development unit within the college and it provides a variety of business related services, including on site training, formal qualifications and bespoke programmes.
Distance Learning allows learners to gain qualifications by studying on their own time and often on their employers’ premises.
