Accommodation
Chelmsford College does not possess flats or a Hall of Residence. However, the College does provide an accommodation service for international students through links with accommodation providers. There is the support of an Accommodation Officer who will assist International Students in finding the right accommodation for their needs. There are hosts in the Chelmsford area offering a warm and friendly environment to students who are studying at Chelmsford College. All properties are inspected regularly and the College places a high importance on the right relationship between the host or property owner and student during their stay.
It should be noted that a host family may not always be 2 adults and 2 children and therefore the term home-stay is used.
Home-Stay Accommodation
Home-stay accommodation can be offered in and around the Chelmsford area and will usually consist of bed, breakfast and evening meal during the week, all meals at the weekend and laundry facilities. This is a safe environment for students to study and get to know the surrounding environment. We would recommend that all International Students stay with a family for at least the initial 4 weeks of their stay before finding alternative accommodation if required. Short or long term arrangements can be made.
Other Accommodation
We have details of a limited amount of self catering/shared accommodation, private houses and room only accommodation. You will have to do your own cooking, shopping, cleaning and will also have to pay the rent, heating, lighting and other running costs to the owner.
The current cost of accommodation is £95 per week, to include bed, breakfast & evening meal (+ a small laundry charge payable directly to the host family).
Various types of accomodation can also be found via www.yell.com, and other similar websites.
