Studying independently in the Learning Centres and Library
At Chelmsford College the two Learning Centres provide ideal places in which to study where support and advice is always available.
Learners visit us before and after lessons to undertake research for assignments, access computers, read, find out about continuing their studies or investigate future careers.
We provide
- A suitable shared learning environment for independent study
- Relevant learning resources for all Chelmsford College courses
- Open access computers and pre-bookable computers
- Knowledgeable and friendly staff
The Learning Centres are large, open access areas available to all learners and staff from 8.30 am every day during term time. The services we offer are many and varied such as
- Induction session to our resources and facilities
- Assistance with research
- Access to online resources
- Support for users of all IT applications
- DVD playback equipment
- Guidance for UCAS applications
- Supplying loans from other libraries
- Selling stationery
- Maintaining a suitable shared learning environment for study
- Silent study room
- Photocopying facilities
Every enrolled learner and member of staff is eligible to borrow items for use in or outside college.
